Welcome to Year 3/4

Our teaching team this year is Miss Barker in Catterick, Mrs Goodyear and Mrs Matthews in Chepstow and Mrs LeCluse and Mrs Marsh in Epsom class.

This year’s exciting topics are:

Term 1: Can you build a learner out of Lego?

Term 2: Would you join Boudica’s revolt?

Term 3: Where can you travel through your window? (http://www.takeonepicture.org.uk/index.html)

Term 4: Can you crack the code? (Ancient Egyptians)

Term 5: Deadly 60

Term 6: How does the land meet the sea?

Children in year 3 and 4 will have the opportunity to go swimming at the Olympiad Leisure Centre in Chippenham. The children work through the National Curriculum requirements with experiences coaches and are awarded certificates and badges at the end of a 13 week course (for a small charge.) Catterick Class will go in the Autumn term, Epsom after Christmas and Chepstow after Easter.

In the summer term 2017, the year 4 residential to Braeside will go ahead for its 4th year. The children will stay in Devizes for 2 nights to take part in a variety of activities such as canoeing, climbing, pond dipping and visiting the canal museum. Details about dates and payments will be sent home nearer the time.

The successful KS2 Enrichment afternoons will continue this year on Fridays. There are up to 9 activities to choose from each term which the children rank in order of preference and we aim to give every child their first choice at least once throughout the year. Activities that have been available over the last few years have included, Gymnastics, Adventurous Games, Cooking, Arts and Crafts, Multi Sports, Pride in Our School, Animation and Love Where You Learn. We encourage the children to stick with their choice throughout each term.

If you have any questions about life in year 3 and 4, please come and speak to one of us at the end of the day or email the office at admin@queenscrescent.wilts.sch.uk.
