The School Council

In Term 1 each class in the school voted for 2 school councillors to represent them. They were chosen by their peers for showing qualities such as good leadership, fairness and an ability to share ideas clearly with others. They will remain in office until the end of this academic year and will support Mrs Marsh and Mrs Quintin with making important decisions about the school.

The school council’s responsibilities include:

  • Supporting in school events such as Harvest Festival, Christmas Dinner & Summer Fairs
  • Attending events out of School
  • Undertaking projects to improve the school environment
  • Voicing the ideas and concerns of their classmates
  • Making decisions about what happens within their school

They have kick-started the year by supporting with collection of items for Harvest Festival which were donated to the local food bank.

They are currently working hard on launching our new class names for 2023 which will be based on the text ‘The Lost Words’ written by Robert McFarlane and illustrated by Jackie Morris, which celebrates the best and most beautiful of British wildlife. They have launched a competition to design new class logos based on these and will help pick winners to display on each classroom door in January.
