Spelling Passports
The passports link to the national curriculum word lists and spelling rules throughout key stage 1 and 2.
There are 10 passports in total, with each split into a selection of target words for the children to focus on and practise within school, alongside their spelling lists that each class currently sends out on a weekly basis.
The children’s progress will be regularly checked within class, as part of on-going teacher assessment, which includes the spellings being correct within written work. Groups of words will be signed as ‘achieved’, before they progress through the passport and on to the next.
A copy of the passport will be sent home at the end of each term to show progress and current spelling targets.
